Peter Lion had been inclined towards writing from a very young age. Throughout his growing up years in Connecticut he was seen dabbling in poetry as well as wrote a number of short stories. His talent in this field was further perfected when after joining the Notre Dame High School in Connecticut he started contributing to the students school newspaper.
He got down to create a career of his passion for the words first by acquiring a degree in Journalism through the Southern Connecticut State University. He printed his first magazine article inside the Hartford Magazine before he graduated with his journalism degree.
He entered into the television business even before he had finished his college. A few months before graduation, Peter Lion took up employment with WTNH-TV as a part time graphics operator. This television channel was an affiliate of the ABC network and was based out of New Haven. Peter Lion though, didn’t have knowledge of this industry grabbed this chance to gain an entry and to create a foothold in the news and television industry.
He learned the ropes rapidly, understanding the technicalities of the workings of the television network and continued to be a part of the channel for over a time period of 2 years.
Then he moved to Boston and started working with WSBK as a Technical Director. He labored on several projects, his major one being the Boston Red Sox Baseball and Boston Bruins Hockey. Nevertheless, his wish to be in television and his passion for writing pulled him back in his home state as a part of a small television station start up.
He signed up with this team to be a director and a technical director for the 10 PM news cast, that was to be the very first within the state. He grabbed this opportunity of exhibiting his talent and knowledge as in his stint in Boston he’s had the capacity of working with several accomplished directors. Peter Lion moved to Pittsburg and joined KADA TV after completing a couple of years with this start-up. Then he moved back in Connecticut and was a part of ESPN sports network. Still a part of ESPN, he’s in charge of a number of their shows like Sports Centre as well as the NFL Draft in his position within the organization as a Director. His primary show however, remains, College Gameday.
He has been a two time winner in the Emmy awards, even though he has been nominated frequently for his contribution while in the television industry. He got his first Emmy for his work in Sports Centre and received his second Emmy for the show NFL countdown.
Apart from working, Peter Lion is presently working on his second book. He is additionally a part of a band that goes by the name of Cheaper than Therapy” and is also its lead singer and guitarist
